Pack Party Rules
Rules and guidelines for creating, joining, and participating in Pack Parties on Phygitals, including card distribution, entry fees, and expiration policies.
Overview
Pack Parties are a social group pack opening feature on Phygitals that lets users pool together for a shared card experience. A creator selects cards from their collection and sets an entry price. Other users join by paying the entry fee, and once all slots are filled, the selected cards are randomly distributed among all participants.
Pack Parties combine the excitement of pack openings with the social element of group participation. Every distribution is randomized, and the process is designed to be transparent and fair for all participants.
Regulatory characterization: Pack Parties are a social card distribution feature. Phygitals does not intend for Pack Parties to constitute gambling, lottery, or sweepstakes, and does not market them as such. The creator sets the card pool and entry price; participants pay a known entry fee for a randomized allocation of known cards from a disclosed pool. Phygitals does not retain a portion of the pool as a "house edge" — 100% of the cards contributed by the creator are distributed to participants. All entry fees (minus applicable platform fees) are paid to the creator. However, regulatory definitions of gambling, lottery, and sweepstakes vary by jurisdiction and continue to evolve. For jurisdictions where randomized distribution mechanics may be regulated, see our Restricted Jurisdictions page.
Jurisdictional Availability: Pack Party availability may be restricted in certain jurisdictions where pooled participation mechanics or randomized reward distribution may be subject to specific regulatory requirements. It is your responsibility to determine whether participation in Pack Party events is lawful in your jurisdiction.
How Pack Parties Work
Here is how a Pack Party works from start to finish:
Creation - A user (the "creator") selects between 2 and 8 cards from their own collection and creates a Pack Party. The creator sets the entry price per slot.
Open for participants - The Pack Party becomes visible to other users on the platform. Each slot corresponds to one participant and one entry fee payment.
Joining - Other users browse available Pack Parties and join by paying the entry fee. Each participant receives one slot.
Party fills up - When all available slots are occupied (one slot per card selected by the creator), the Pack Party is full and the distribution triggers.
Random distribution - The selected cards are randomly distributed among all participants. Each participant receives one card per slot they hold.
Cards delivered - Distributed cards are delivered as digital collectibles directly to each participant's wallet.
The number of slots in a Pack Party equals the number of cards the creator selected (between 2 and 8). The entry fee is the same for every participant in a given Pack Party.
Creating a Pack Party
To create a Pack Party, you must have an authenticated Phygitals account and own cards in your collection. Follow these steps:
Navigate to Pack Parties - From the main navigation, select the Pack Party section.
Select your cards - Choose between 2 and 8 cards from your collection to include in the Pack Party. The cards you select will be distributed to participants.
Set the entry price - Define the price each participant will pay to join a slot. Consider the total value of the cards you are offering and the number of slots when setting a fair entry price.
Review and create - Review your Pack Party details, including the cards selected, number of slots, and entry price. Once you confirm, the Pack Party goes live and your cards are locked into the party.
Important: Once a Pack Party is created and your cards are committed, they are locked and cannot be traded, sold, or withdrawn from the party until the party completes, expires, or is cancelled. By creating a Pack Party, you agree to transfer the selected cards to the participants upon completion.
Joining a Pack Party
To join an existing Pack Party:
Browse available parties - View the list of open Pack Parties on the platform. Each listing shows the creator, the cards included (with their images and FMV), the entry price, and the number of remaining slots.
Review the details - Examine the cards, their estimated values, and the entry price. Make sure you understand that card distribution is random and you may receive any one of the available cards.
Pay the entry fee - Click to join and pay the entry fee. Payment can be made via wallet balance (USDC or USDT) or credit card.
Wait for completion - Once you have joined, you can see real-time participant tracking and a countdown showing the party's status. The party triggers when all slots are filled.
By joining a Pack Party, you accept that:
Card distribution is random and you will receive one card per slot you hold.
You may receive any card in the party's pool, regardless of its value relative to other cards.
Entry fees are non-refundable once the Pack Party completes (all slots filled and distribution occurs).
If the Pack Party expires or is cancelled before completion, your entry fee will be refunded.
Card Distribution
When a Pack Party fills all its slots, the card distribution is triggered automatically. The process works as follows:
Random allocation - Each card in the party's pool is randomly assigned to a participant. The randomization is performed by the platform's distribution algorithm.
One card per slot - Each participant receives exactly one card for each slot they hold. The total number of cards equals the total number of slots.
Instant delivery - Distributed cards are delivered as digital collectibles directly to each participant's wallet immediately upon distribution.
No exchanges - Once cards are distributed, the allocation is final. Participants cannot exchange or swap their assigned card with another participant through the Pack Party system. You are, of course, free to trade on the marketplace afterward.
The value of the card you receive may be higher or lower than the entry fee you paid. Pack Parties involve an element of chance, and all participants should understand this before joining.
Entry Fees & Payments
Entry fees are set by the Pack Party creator and are the same for every participant in a given party. Key details:
Fixed price per slot - The entry fee is a flat price per slot, set at creation time. It does not change as slots fill up.
Payment methods - Entry fees can be paid via wallet balance (USDC or USDT) or credit card.
Revenue to creator - The combined entry fees from all participants (minus any applicable platform fees) are paid to the creator upon successful completion of the Pack Party.
Platform fee: Phygitals charges a platform fee on completed Pack Parties. The applicable fee rate is disclosed at the time of Pack Party creation and is deducted from the total entry fees before payout to the creator. The fee rate may be updated from time to time at Phygitals' sole discretion.
Non-refundable upon completion - Once all slots are filled and card distribution occurs, entry fees are non-refundable.
Refunded on cancellation or expiration - If a Pack Party is cancelled by the creator or expires before all slots are filled, all entry fees paid by participants are refunded in full.
Expiration & Cancellation
Pack Parties are not open indefinitely. The following rules govern expiration and cancellation:
Expiration timer - Each Pack Party has a countdown timer set at creation. If all slots are not filled before the timer reaches zero, the Pack Party expires.
Expired parties - When a Pack Party expires, all entry fees paid by participants are automatically refunded in full. The creator's cards are unlocked and returned to their collection.
Creator cancellation - Creators may cancel their own Pack Party before it is fully filled. Upon cancellation, all participant entry fees are refunded in full and the creator's cards are returned.
No cancellation after completion - Once all slots are filled and card distribution has occurred, the Pack Party is considered complete and cannot be reversed, cancelled, or modified.
We encourage creators to set realistic entry prices and participant counts to maximize the likelihood of the party completing before expiration.
Fair Distribution
Phygitals is committed to ensuring that card distribution in Pack Parties is fair and unbiased. The platform uses randomized allocation algorithms to determine which participant receives which card.
Randomized allocation - The assignment of cards to participants is performed using a random algorithm. No participant, including the creator, has any ability to influence or predict which card they will receive.
Creator participation - Creators do not receive cards from their own Pack Party. They contribute the cards and receive the entry fees upon completion.
No favoritism - The distribution algorithm treats all participants equally regardless of account age, purchase history, or any other factor.
Transparency - Phygitals is committed to transparency in all randomized mechanics. For details on our broader approach to provable fairness, see the Provable Fairness documentation.
Anti-manipulation: The following activities are strictly prohibited in connection with Pack Parties and constitute violations of our Terms of Service:
Creating Pack Parties using multiple accounts you control to manipulate outcomes;
Colluding with other users to fill specific slots or influence the distribution;
Using bots, scripts, or automated tools to join Pack Parties;
Creating Pack Parties with the intent to mislead participants about the value or nature of the cards offered.
Violations may result in account suspension, forfeiture of assets, and other enforcement actions as described in our Terms of Service.
Pack Party distributions use platform-side randomization. For details on how individual pack openings are verified, see our Provable Fairness documentation.
By participating in a Pack Party, all users acknowledge that the outcome is randomized and that the value of the card received may differ from the entry fee paid.
