Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common questions about using the Phygitals platform, including packs, marketplace, vault storage, pawn, payments, and account management.
General
What is Phygitals?
Phygitals is a hybrid physical-digital collectibles platform that creates digital twins of real physical trading cards. Every digital card on the platform corresponds to a real, authenticated physical card stored in a professional vault.
How does it work?
When you purchase a pack or buy a card on the marketplace, you receive a digital collectible that represents verified ownership of a specific physical card. You can trade your cards on the marketplace, hold them in your collection, or redeem the physical card and have it shipped to you.
What technology does Phygitals use?
Phygitals uses a secure digital custody system to tokenize physical cards into digital collectibles. Each digital collectible is a verifiable record of ownership that can be traded, held, or redeemed for the underlying physical card. For full technical details, see our NFT & Digital Asset Terms.
Do I need a crypto wallet?
Not necessarily. When you create an account, a digital wallet is automatically created for you. You can also connect an existing compatible wallet (which may include Phantom, Solflare, Backpack, Ledger, and other compatible wallets).
Is Phygitals available worldwide?
Phygitals is available in most countries. However, it is your responsibility to determine whether your use of any feature of the Service is lawful in your jurisdiction. Phygitals does not classify its pack openings as gambling, but regulatory treatment of randomized reward mechanics varies by jurisdiction. The entire platform is unavailable to users in sanctioned countries. See our Restricted Jurisdictions page for details.
Packs & Pack Openings
How do packs work?
Packs are available at various fixed price points. Each pack contains randomized trading cards from the available card pool. When you open a pack, the cards are determined by a provably fair algorithm and delivered to your wallet as digital collectibles.
Are pack openings fair?
Yes. All pack openings use a provable fairness system that combines a server seed, a client seed, and a publicly disclosed algorithm. You can verify the fairness of any opening after the fact. See our Provable Fairness documentation for details.
Can I get a refund if I don't like my pack results?
No. All pack purchases are final and non-refundable. Pack contents are randomized, and dissatisfaction with the results is not grounds for a refund. However, you can use the buyback system to sell cards back at the applicable buyback rate. See our Return & Refund Policy for details.
What is the buyback system?
After opening a pack, you have a 30-minute window to sell any card back to Phygitals at the specified buyback rate for that pack tier. Buyback rates vary by pack tier and are displayed at the time of the offer. Payouts are in USDC. See Pack Opening & Buyback for full details.
What collections are available?
Available collections include Pokemon TCG (primary), Baseball, Football, Basketball, One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Dragon Ball, and other select series. Availability may vary based on current inventory.
Marketplace
How does the marketplace work?
The Phygitals marketplace is a peer-to-peer trading platform where you can list cards for sale at a fixed price, browse and buy listed cards, make offers, and accept offers from other users.
What fees does the marketplace charge?
Phygitals charges a marketplace fee on completed transactions. The current fee rate is displayed at the time of listing and transaction. There is no fee for creating a listing - fees are only charged when a sale completes.
Are marketplace transactions reversible?
No. All completed marketplace transactions are final and irreversible. Please review all details carefully before confirming a purchase or accepting an offer.
Where does the pricing data come from?
Fair Market Value (FMV) data is sourced from industry-standard pricing providers for graded collectibles. FMV is provided as a reference and does not dictate or guarantee actual sale prices.
Vault & Storage
Where are the physical cards stored?
Physical cards are stored in professional vault facilities in the United States, operated by our partners: PSA (Professional Sports Authenticator), Fanatics, and Alt (alt.xyz).
Are my cards insured?
Yes. All cards in vault custody are covered by insurance provided through our vault partners (Alt, PSA, and Fanatics) against loss, theft, and damage. See our Vault & Storage documentation for details on coverage and limitations.
Can I get my physical card shipped to me?
Yes. Through the Claim process, you can redeem your digital collectible for the corresponding physical card. You must provide a valid shipping address (Latin characters only). See Shipping & Redemption for details.
Can I submit my own physical cards?
Yes. Through the Submit process, you can send physical cards to our vault for authentication, grading, and digitization as digital collectibles on the platform. See Submit Cards for instructions.
What happens to my cards if Phygitals shuts down?
Your physical cards are your property, not Phygitals' property. In the event of business cessation, Phygitals has established procedures to return physical assets to their rightful owners within a three-month reclamation period. See our Business Continuity page for full details.
Pawn / Lending
What is the pawn feature?
The pawn feature lets you borrow up to 50% of the Fair Market Value of an eligible graded card. Your card is held as collateral while the loan is active. You can reclaim your card at any time by repaying the loan plus interest.
What cards are eligible for pawning?
Graded cards with an FMV of at least $26 that are currently in the Phygitals vault are eligible, subject to a maximum loan amount of $5,000. The minimum loan amount is $13. Ungraded cards, cards without FMV data, and cards with active marketplace listings are not eligible.
What happens if I don't repay?
If you fail to repay within the loan term, your card is forfeited. Pawn loans are non-recourse, meaning you owe nothing beyond the forfeited card. See our Pawn / Lending Terms for complete details.
What are the interest rates?
Interest rates and applicable APR are disclosed at the time of each loan offer. Rates are tiered based on loan amount and term and are clearly displayed before you confirm any pawn transaction. Full details in our Pawn / Lending Terms.
Payments & Funds
How can I add funds?
You can add funds via credit/debit card through our payment processor, wallet funding, cross-chain swap from any token on any chain to USDC (subject to applicable fees), or by directly sending USDC/USDT to your wallet address.
How can I withdraw funds?
You can withdraw funds to a bank account through our payment processor or transfer USDC, USDT, or SOL directly to any external wallet. Phygitals covers gas fees on withdrawals.
What currencies are supported?
The primary currency is USDC (a USD-pegged stablecoin). USDT is also supported for purchases and withdrawals. Pack purchases can be made via credit card (USD) or wallet balance.
Does Phygitals store my credit card information?
No. Payment card details are processed and stored by our PCI-compliant third-party payment processors. Phygitals never stores your credit card numbers.
Am I responsible for taxes on my transactions?
Yes. You are solely responsible for all applicable taxes arising from your use of the Service, including sales tax, value-added tax, income tax, and any taxes on capital gains from digital asset transactions. Pack openings, marketplace sales, buyback proceeds, and pawn loan activity may have tax implications depending on your jurisdiction. Phygitals does not provide tax advice and recommends consulting a qualified tax professional regarding your specific obligations. See Section 8 of our Terms of Service for details.
Account & Security
How do I create an account?
You can sign up using email, Apple ID, Google account, SMS verification, or by connecting a compatible wallet. A digital wallet is automatically created for users who don't have one.
Can I use the platform without an account?
Guest accounts are available for limited browsing and purchasing. However, features like pawn/lending, messaging, and advanced portfolio tools require full account registration.
How do I secure my account?
Use strong, unique credentials for your login method. If using an external wallet, secure your private keys and seed phrase. Enable two-factor authentication where available. Never share your account credentials or wallet private keys with anyone.
What if my account is compromised?
Contact us immediately at [email protected]. We can suspend your account to prevent unauthorized transactions while we investigate.
Pack Parties
What is a Pack Party?
A Pack Party is a social group event where a creator selects between 2 and 8 cards from their collection and sets an entry price. Other users join by paying the entry fee. When all slots fill, the cards are randomly distributed among participants.
What happens if a Pack Party doesn't fill up?
If a Pack Party expires before all slots are filled, all entry fees are automatically refunded in full and the creator's cards are returned to their collection.
Can I get a refund after a Pack Party completes?
No. Once all slots are filled and cards are distributed, the Pack Party is complete and entry fees are non-refundable. See our Pack Party Rules and Return & Refund Policy for details.
